CBSE board exam dates to be out by January 15

CHANDIGARH: Where ICSE has already announced board exam dates, students of classes X and XII studying under Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will have to wait for another 11 days to know the board examination dates as the final dates will be out only near January 15. CBSE's regional director R J Khanderao, while talking to TOI, said, "We can expect the exam dates to be out by or on January 15."

However, the news has helped in lowering down student's anxiety which otherwise has been increasing with every passing day. Atul Sharma, a Class XII student of Commerce, said, "Since December I have been regularly checking CBSE's website to know the exam date. But now I can relax as I know it will be out by January 15."

Swati Duggal, another Class XII student with non-medical, said, "I have been preparing for All India Engineering Entrance Examination ( AIEEE) as well. Therefore, I want to be clear about the dates so that I can prioritize and make my study time table accordingly."

Sheekha Narang, a Class XII student with Commerce, said, "I am unable to decide as to which subject I should prepare first. So if the exam date is out and I have the date sheet in front of me then I will be able to set the schedule accordingly."

Abhay Singh, a Class X student, said, "My anxiety took a toll when I got to know that ICSE has declared the examination date. Since then I have been regularly checking the CBSE website." His friend cum classmate Saurav Kant said, "I wonder if like ICSE even CBSE will schedule the exams in February as in that case there will be very less time for preparation."

In schools under Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) board exams for Class X will begin from February 27 where and exams for Class XII will begin from February 13. The dates have been scheduled in February this year to allow time for students to prepare for various entrance tests.

CBSE students yet to get marksheets, can’t start applying

MUMBAI: Even as Class-X students are busy applying to junior colleges of their choice, CBSE Class-X students are anxiously waiting for their original marksheets, without which they cannot apply to any college. Schools have been receiving numerous calls from parents and students but they are as helpless since the CBSE board has not yet commented on the status of marksheets.


"We have tried to contact board authorities almost every day and also contacted officials at the Chennai region office (which handles Maharashtra schools), but all to no avail. We have still not got any response from the authorities. Our parents are really anxious," said the principal of a CBSE school. Parents are worried that their wards' admission forms might not get approved without originals of the marksheets.

CBSE schools can validate class X results till students get originals: CAP

PUNE: The centralised admission process (CAP) committee has said all central board of secondary education (CBSE) students should get a validated marksheet issued by the school principal, in the absence of original marksheets, for availing application forms to first year junior colleges (FYJC).
Confusion prevailed even on the second day of issuing admission forms at various colleges, as CBSE students and parents were still unaware of what documents were being accepted by the CAP committee.
Sunil Magar, deputy director of education, Pune region, on Wednesday asserted, "The CBSE students should get their class X results validated by the school principal with a stamp and signature. We understand that the original marksheets have not reached them as yet, so the CAP committee have come out with this alternative."

Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) supplementary exam from July 16

The Patna zone of Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) will conduct Improvement of Performance Examination (compartmental examinations) for students who could not qualify in this year's annual Class X examinations, from July 16 to 23. A total of 600 students are slated to take the examination. CBSE Patna zone had declared Class X results on June 10, with 99.51 % students qualifying. "The examination for all seven papers of Class X will be held within a span of seven days. As the result was good, there are only a few takers for this examination," CBSE Patna zone regional director S U Sorte told TOI.
