PUNE: The centralised admission process (CAP) committee has said all central board of secondary education (CBSE) students should get a validated marksheet issued by the school principal, in the absence of original marksheets, for availing application forms to first year junior colleges (FYJC).
Confusion prevailed even on the second day of issuing admission forms at various colleges, as CBSE students and parents were still unaware of what documents were being accepted by the CAP committee.
Sunil Magar, deputy director of education, Pune region, on Wednesday asserted, "The CBSE students should get their class X results validated by the school principal with a stamp and signature. We understand that the original marksheets have not reached them as yet, so the CAP committee have come out with this alternative."

Meanwhile, the CBSE students have still not received their original marksheets. The results of class X were declared on May 31.
Jayashree Venkatraman, principal, DAV Public School, said, "We have started giving results to students on the school letterhead with stamp and signature, along with the leaving certificate. The CAP committee has started accepting school authorised marksheets, so students do not face problems while seeking admissions."
On Tueday, when the sale of application forms for FYJC began, parents were confused as the CAP committee had earlier refused to accept printouts of the online result. A parent, who came to purchase the application form, said, "Every year, the original marksheet is dispatched within eight to 10 days of online announcement of the result. However, this year, we are still to receive the original marksheet. The CBSE board has been very negligent as the admission procedure has already begun."
While the ICSE students have already received the original marksheets, the SSC students received them on Monday, a day ahead of the admission process. The last date for submission of forms for FYJCs is July 7.
Vineet Joshi, chairman of CBSE, has assured that marksheets have been dispatched to all regions. "We are issuing the marksheets and certificates together this year, and this is the reason for the delay," said Joshi.
