Xavier Admission Test (XAT) is a national level entrance exam, for admission into the post graduate management programmes at Xavier Institutes, conducted by Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur. Besides XLRI and other Xavier Institutes, hosts of other reputed Top B-Schools in India also accept XAT scores including Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai and Goa Institutes of Management, Indian Institute of Finance, New Delhi and S P Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai.

Eligibility
- The minimum educational qualification to appear XAT is a 3-years Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized University.
- Those candidates who are going to appear the final exam of their Bachelor’s Degree/equivalent degree can also apply.
Examination Pattern
XAT is a single-stage entrance test followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. GD & PI are conducted by the institute concerned. XAT is an objective type multiple choice test usually comprising 3 sections – Verbal Ability (English) and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude (Math) and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning – followed by an essay writing section. However, candidates should always be prepared to deal with any surprise as the pattern may change at times. The duration of the objective type test is 2 hours. An additional 15-20 minutes is provided at the end of the 2 hours for the essay writing section. There is provision of negative marking for wrong answers.

There is no defined syllabus as such for XAT. However, XAT question set comprise of three sections:
- Verbal Ability (English) and Reading Comprehension
- Quantitative Aptitude (Math)
- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
