KEAM/ Kerala CEE is an entry level examination conducted by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala for admission of students into various technical and professional programmes like Medical, Agriculture, Veterinary, Engineering and Architecture Degree courses offered by several colleges and universities located in Kerala.
Courses
Students who qualify KEAM/ Kerala CEE can seek admission to the following courses:
Medical
  • MBBS
  • BDS
  • BHMS (Homeopathy)
  • BAMS (Ayurveda)
  • BSMS (Siddha)
Agriculture
  • Bachelor of Science in Agriculture/ Fisheries/ Forestry
Veterinary
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.VSc & AH)
Engineering
  • Bachelor of Technology in Agricultural Engg. / Dairy Sc. & Tech.
Architecture
  • Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.)
Eligibility
Candidate should be an Indian citizen. Both Keralites and Non-Keralites are eligible to apply KEAM. In certain cases PIO/OCI are also allowed.

Medical/Agriculture/Veterinary Courses:
1. Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent with 50% marks in Biology, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together.
2. In addition to these qualification candidates should have specific qualification as required by certain courses. Candidates seeking admission to MBBS/BDS courses should have acquired 50% marks in the Medical Entrance Examination. Candidates seeking admission to BVSc. & AH course under the Kerala Agricultural University should have passed the qualifying examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English put together.
3. BSc. Degree holders also can apply for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BSMS Courses. Those candidates should have obtained their BSc. Degree with one of the subjects, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Bio-Chemistry as Main, and any one or two of these subjects as subsidiaries, with 50% marks for Main and Subsidiaries taken together, provided they have passed the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects.

Engineering Courses:
1. Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or equivalent with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Bio-technology/Computer Science/Biology put together.
2. Candidates having Three year Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations, Kerala or equivalent, with 50% marks in the final Diploma examination, are also eligible.
3. For Architecture Course candidates should have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject of examination with 50% marks in aggregate OR have passed 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/State Governments with 50% aggregate marks ORhave passed International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination. In addition to this candidates should have to score 40% marks in the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture).
  • For all courses, a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination is allowed to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) candidates.
  • SC/ST candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination except certain courses.
  • Candidates who have appeared/are appearing for qualifying examinations are also eligible to take the Entrance. But, such candidates have to prove their academic eligibility at the time of admission.
  • The candidate should have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission.
Examination Pattern
  • KEAM/ Kerala CEE conduct two separate tests for Engineering and Medical stream courses.
  • Each exam consists of two papers of 2? hours duration.
  • Engineering Entrance Examination is meant for Engineering courses except Architecture having the following papers.
    • Paper-I: Physics & Chemistry.
    • Paper-II: Mathematics.
  • Medical Entrance Examination is meant for Medical, Agriculture and Veterinary Courses having the following papers.
    • Paper-I: Chemistry & Physics.
    • Paper-II: Biology.
  • There is no State level Entrance Examination for B. Arch courses. However, such candidates should appear at the National Aptitude Test for Architecture and should forward the NATA score and mark list to the Commissioner for Entrance Exam.
Syllabus
There is no defined syllabus for KEAM/Kerala -CEE. However separate tests are conducted for Engineering and Medical stream courses.
Engineering Entrance Examination consists of two papers:
  • Paper-I: Physics & Chemistry.
  • Paper-II: Mathematics.
Medical Entrance Examination also consists of two papers:
  • Paper-I: Chemistry & Physics.
  • Paper-II: Biology.
