What is IIT JAM ?

Joint admission test for M.Sc (JAM 2011)

For admission to M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D dual degree and other post-B.Sc programmes at IITs.  Indian Institutes of Technology conducts a Joint Admission test to M.Sc. (JAM) for admission to M.Sc. and other post-B.Sc. programmes at the IITs. 

IMPORTANT DATES FOR JAM-2011

Issue of application forms and information brochures at Punjab National Bank counters or by post only from IIT Roorkee and commencement of online registration: 22nd December, 2010 (Wednesday)

Last date for receipt of requests at IIT Roorkee for issue of application material by post: 18th January, 2011 (Tuesday)

Last date for issue of application forms and information brochures at bank counters: 21st January, 2011 (Friday)

Last date for online registration on the website: 24th January, 2011 (Monday) at 18.00 hrs

Last date for receipt of completed OMR application form along with pay-in-slip and demand draft (if any)/online registration form along with demand draft at the organizing institute (IIT Roorkee): 31st January, 2011 (Monday)

Date of JAM 2011 test: 08th May, 2011 (Sunday)

Announcement of the result of JAM 2011: 30th May, 2011 (Monday) at 17.00 hrs

Issue of application forms for admission by JAM office of the organizing institute/downloading from the website of organizing institute starts: 01st June, 2011 (Wednesday)

Last date for receipt of completed application forms by admission along with demand draft of Rs 300/- by organizing institute: 15th June, 2011 (Wednesday) 

How to apply for IIT JAM 2011 ? 
Application fee

Fees for offline application form from banks/IITR Jam office Rs 1000/- for General/OBC male candidate, Rs 900/- for female candidate; Rs 500/- for SC/ST/PD (male/female)

Fees for online application; Rs 900/- for general/OBC male candidates, Rs 800/- for female candidates; Rs 400/- for SC/ST/PD (male/female)

Additional fees for 2nd test papers; Rs 300/- for general/OBC (male/female candidates); Rs 150/- for SC/ST/PD (male/female candidates)

Those who are obtaining application form from bank/IITR JAM office should send the demand draft, if opting for a second test paper

Demand draft should be drawn in favour of chairman, JAM-2011, IIT Roorkee on any bank payable at Roorkee

The completed offline/online application form with necessary enclosures must reach the organizing chairman, JAM 2011, IIT Roorkee, Roorkee-247667, latest by 31st January, 2011
